Minor imperfections, chipped tooth enamel, and deeply stained teeth can leave you feeling self-conscious about your smile. This drives many people to want to explore their options for the white and even smile they’ve always wanted. If you feel this way, you should consult with Dr. Poovey or Dr. Gorman to explore the best option for restoring the appearance of your smile.

Dental veneers are essentially thin porcelain shells that are custom made in a dental lab to fit over the faces of the teeth in your smile. The porcelain material is shaded to look just like natural teeth.

It often requires two separate appointments for our dentists to install custom dental veneers on the teeth in your smile.

During the first appointment, our dentists will examine your teeth and take a few X-rays to assess. It’s important to make sure that there is sufficient strong enamel to later mount the veneers. If one or more teeth lacks sufficient enamel or it has been compromised by past dental work, our dentists might recommend having the questionable tooth completely restored with a crown.

At the end of the first appointment, our dentists forms an impression of the teeth in your smile. This is sent the dental lab where your custom dental veneers are made.

When the lab has completed your dental veneers, our dentists will call you in for the second appointment. During this procedure, he will remove a small amount of enamel from the face of each tooth before cementing your new dental veneers in place.
